STATE UIC ANNOUNCES T. J. BREWSTER AS CENTRAL DISTRICT UIC
Mike Davidson, Arizona ASA State Umpire-in-Chief is pleased to announce the selection of Thayne (“T.J.”) Brewster as the AZ ASA Central District Umpire-in-Chief. T. J. is a 26 year veteran Umpire with ASA and joins the AZ Umpire Staff having experience in 3 different Local Associations; the old Metro Phoenix Association, the Utah State Association, and the Arizona State Association.
T. J. Brewster has experience in both the Fast Pitch Program and the Slow Pitch Program and has umpired in five (5) ASA National Championship Tournaments including the former Inter-Service Championships SP (now called the Armed Forces Championships), the 14U Girls FP Western, the 18U Girl’s FP Western, the Men’s “C” FP and the Men’s “B” FP. In addition to ASA Umpiring, T. J. umpires in several Allied Member Organizations including NFHS, NJCAA, and the NCAA where he works the Mountain West, WAC and PAC-10 Conferences. T. J. Brewster has been awarded the Gold Level of Excellence in the ASA Medals Program and his induction into the National Indicator Fraternity (NIF) is pending.
T. J. Brewster resides in Mesa Arizona with his wife Karen and has nine (9) children. T.J. replaces Darrell McRae in this position and will now serve on the AZ ASA State Executive Board. As the Central District of AZ ASA covers such a large population as well as large numbers of Team and Umpire registrations, T. J. has appointed an Assistant District UIC for Fast Pitch and an Assistant District UIC for Slow Pitch. He has also retained all Deputies and has added some new ones as well.
